How Own The Box Marketing collects, uses, and protects your information.

Last updated: October 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Own The Box Marketing LLC handles information in connection with owntheboxmarketing.com and the marketing services we provide. It covers the OTBM marketing agency. Our other products (for example, the Rhody Reviews software) have their own separate policies.

1. Who we are

Own The Box Marketing LLC is a Rhode Island limited liability company ("we," "us," "our"), with an authorized business address of 29 Hunters Ct, Saunderstown, RI 02874. We provide marketing services to businesses nationally. Questions about this policy can be sent to steve@owntheboxmarketing.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you contact us, book a call, request a quote, or become a client, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, business name, email address, phone number, and details about your business and its marketing needs. When you become a client, we also receive access to and information about the business accounts you ask us to manage (for example, your Google Business Profile, website, and analytics).

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we and our service providers may collect standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and the site that referred you, through cookies and similar technologies. See Section 7. If you arrive by clicking one of our ads, this can include the ad click identifier and campaign details described in Section 7.

Payment information. Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card number on our systems.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and provide quotes
  • Provide, manage, and improve the services you purchase
  • Set up and manage the marketing accounts, listings, and campaigns you engage us for
  • Bill you and keep records
  • Communicate with you about your account and our services
  • Measure how well our own advertising works (for example, which ads lead to inquiries)
  • Meet legal, tax, and compliance obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Client customer data

As part of providing services, you may give us access to your own customers' contact information (for example, to send review requests on your behalf). We act as a service provider handling that information on your instructions and for the purpose of providing your services. You are responsible for having obtained the consents required by law (including TCPA and CAN-SPAM) for those contacts. We do not use your customers' contact information for our own marketing.

5. Google user data

Where you grant us access to your Google Business Profile or other Google accounts to provide services, we access and use that data only to perform the services you have engaged us for. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it or transfer it except as needed to provide your services or as required by law.

6. How we share information

We share information only:

  • With service providers and platforms we use to run our business and deliver your services (for example, hosting, analytics, payment processing, and the directory and advertising platforms your plan uses), and only as needed for those purposes
  • When you direct us to (for example, submitting your business information to a directory or platform on your behalf)
  • To comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, or protect our rights, and
  • In connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or sale), subject to this policy

7. Cookies, advertising measurement, and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for basic site functionality and to understand how our site is used.

Google Ads conversion measurement. We advertise on Google, and our website uses the Google Ads tag (provided by Google LLC) on its pages. The tag sets cookies (for example, a cookie named "_gcl_au") and collects standard technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, and whether you arrived by clicking one of our ads. We use it to measure whether our ads lead to inquiries. When you submit our free check-up request form, the tag tells Google that a conversion occurred. We do not send your name, phone number, or other form answers to Google through the tag. Google processes this information under its own privacy policy, which explains how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Remarketing. We may also use the Google Ads tag to build lists of people who have visited our website, so that Google can show our ads to them later on other websites, YouTube, and Gmail. These lists are kept and matched by Google using cookies and device identifiers; we do not upload your name, email, or phone number to Google for this purpose. You can turn off personalized ads from Google at My Ad Center (myadcenter.google.com).

Ad and campaign details saved with form submissions. When you submit a form on our website, we may store, together with your submission, the campaign tags in the web address you arrived on (known as UTM parameters, such as the ad source, campaign, and keyword), the Google click identifier ("gclid") if you came from a Google ad, the page you submitted from, and the website that referred you. We use this to know which ads and campaigns bring in inquiries, and we keep it with your inquiry record as described in Section 8.

Your choices. You can control how Google uses information for ads at Google's My Ad Center (myadcenter.google.com, also reachable from Google's Ads Settings page). You can also block or delete cookies, including the Google Ads cookies above, through your browser settings, and many browsers let you block third-party cookies or tracking entirely. If you block cookies, our site will still work, but we may not be able to tell that a visit came from an ad.

8. Data retention and security

We keep information for as long as needed to provide services, meet our legal and tax obligations, and resolve disputes, and we then delete or de-identify it. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to opt out of certain uses. To make a request, email steve@owntheboxmarketing.com and we will respond as required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

10. Children

Our services are for businesses and are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you.
